Packer Builders is located in beautiful Traverse City, Michigan. We provide service to Grand Traverse, Benzie, Leelanau, Antrim and Kalkaska Counties specializing in residential remodeling and renovation projects and custom home building. Owner Bill Packer has been in the construction business for over 25 years and personally manages each project. He is a licensed Residential Builder in Michigan and holds a Certified Building Contractor license in Florida.
Often times in the building or remodeling process it is necessary to be creative and solve problems. By personally managing the project Bill is on site daily to make the decisions necessary to keep the job moving forward. This gives our clients confidence and peace of mind knowing that there is someone on the job with their best interest as a priority.
We regularly work with absentee home owners either on a daily basis or longer term such as a winter remodel on a second or summer home. Communication is very important in keeping the project timely. We stay in touch by phone, fax, email, digital photos, and other kinds of cool techno methods -- so you can keep up with the progress.

In the past Bill has worked on several smaller items, like a storage unit under our deck. This past Winter, Bill remodeled our master bedroom and bath. He is meticulous and honest; he became a friend through and through. We went slightly over budget, but it was based on the changes that we wanted to include as the project went along. About 6 years when we moved up here and luckily found Bill Packer. We have rehired him on several occasions and will continue to do so. The list of items is lengthy: replaced fixtures in ceiling, removing kitchen cabinets, he turned our 3-season porch to a year round room, added a shed, built a new patio, and most recently finished off the patio with a beautiful pergola that we are enjoying now.

Bill's wonderful. Wonderful working with him. He is so neat; Bill covers up the flooring to protect from the foot and tool traffic. Bill always cleans up after himself -- in fact he is the cleanest contractor we have ever known. Unbelievable eye for details; even his own work yields to his critical perfection. I did not notice any problems, but Bill took care of an item that he had to point out to me, which was not up to his standards. He will always go the extra mile to make sure the project is done to his standards, which is always well beyond ours. Bill redid two of our bathrooms, our kitchen, and replaced our front door. We refer him all the time and enjoy the opportunity to work with him again.

Bill built our garage, which is special. We are located in Traverse City, Michigan's Historic District. This required us to match the original construction of our house, which is board-n-batten siding. This is an old method of construction that is not common today, but Bill took care of everything. It required a little more work than tradition construction, but the outcome is worth it. Bill kept the project on schedule, and still managed to clean up every day. Packer Builders, Inc., is fabulous and I would not hesitate to rehire and have referred him on several occasions when people ask about the work that was done.

We had the idea to add a bathroom to the loft bedroom of our log home. Bill Packer was highly recommended to us through several sources to handle our project. We are absolutely confident that we made the right choice.
He had the utmost attention to detail throughout the whole project. There were several structural aspects to consider because it is a log home. Bill worked well with the engineers specifications and our creative nuances to the project. He was also very accommodating with our several changes in plans.
